The week is almost done, and before the weekend pulls you in a hundred directions, this is a good moment to stop and say thank you. Friday has its own particular grace because you made it through.
Abba, thank You.
Thank You for this week; for every bit of it, even the parts I’d rather forget. Thank You that Your mercies were new every morning, even on the mornings I didn’t feel it. Thank You for the work You put in my hands, for the people You placed in my path, and for the moments this week that reminded me You are still very much at work.
Thank You that I didn’t have to carry this week alone. You were in it; in the early mornings, in the long afternoons, in the moments when I didn’t know which way to turn and somehow found my footing anyway. That was You.
I want to close this week with an open hand, not a clenched fist.
Whatever didn’t get done, I release it. Whatever was said or unsaid, done or undone, I leave it with You. I don’t want to drag it into the weekend and certainly not into next week.
Let me rest well, Abba. Let the weekend be genuinely restoring, for my body, my mind, and my spirit. Let me be present with the people I love, not distracted by what’s waiting on Monday.
Thank You for this week. All of it was Yours.
Amen.
Focus on this Bible verse today:
“It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.” Psalm 127:2 (NLT)
