Spicy Boiled Grams Ingredients and Recipe
You’ll need about half a kg of chickpeas, two or three green chilies, salt, and water. So this recipe is vegetarian, diary free, gluten free, and sugar free. It would have been nice if chickpeas were keto, but sadly they’re not.
Soak the chickpeas overnight or at least for a few hours. This will remove the excess sugar in the beans that contain (supposedly oligosaccharides) that cause gas.
The next day, add the chickpeas to a pressure cooker. Add two slit chillies, salt, and enough water to cover. For us, that’s about three litres, but adjust according to your pressure cooker.
Cook on a high flame till it reaches full pressure (about 5 minutes) and then at full pressure for two whistles (about 15 minutes.)
Remove and serve warm! Simple, easy, and tasty. For more flavor, you can sprinkle with chili powder or lemon juice before serving!
