Boilermaker is a beer cocktail that is made by mixing beer and whiskey. All you have to do is dunk a shot glass of whiskey into a pint glass of beer and your drink is ready!
There are two ways of drinking a Boilermaker. First, you can gulp down a shot of whiskey and follow it up with beer or second, you dunk your shot of whiskey in a pint glass of beer and drink it, bottoms up. It’s a bit similar to the Irish bomb, but without the cream.
It is really an old classic cocktail, that is also called a shot and a beer, however, it is not very clear when it originated. Stories are that it was first consumed by steam locomotive workers back in the 1800s, who after a long day of toiling would head to the bar at the end of their shifts and have a shot of whiskey and then drink a beer to de-stress. These guys were said to be working on the boilers of the steam engines, and hence the name.
