Abba, here I am again, standing at the start of a new week with all its unknowns spread out before me. I’m thankful for the family you have given me, for loved ones that are there no matter what, for the provision that never ends, and for your Holy Spirit to guide me.
I usually come to Monday with new energy and enthusiasm, but I know that by the end of today I might become a bit tired, a little reluctant, carrying the weight of what’s still undone from last week and all that I still need to accomplish this week. You know all of that. You see it.
So before this day picks up speed, I want to stop here — just for a moment — and remember that this week is already in Your hands. The meetings I’m dreading, the tasks that feel too big, the conversations I don’t know how to have — none of it surprises You.
Let me not rush past You to get to my to-do list.
Abby, give me clarity of mind and steadiness of heart. Let the work of my hands have meaning beyond the visible. Where I feel scattered, gather me. Where I feel small, remind me Whose I am. And on the hard days — because there will be hard days — let me find You in the middle of them, not just at the start or end.
This week, let me be faithful in the small things. Let me be kind even when I’m busy. Let me be present when I’d rather be elsewhere. Let me take the time to laugh and joke and smile with those around me.
All of this week is Yours, Abba. I offer it to You, even the Monday of it.
Amen.
Here’s a Bible verse to focus on today.
“Let every detail in your life — words, actions, whatever — be done in the name of the Master, Jesus.“
Colossians 3:17 (MSG)
