Zucchini anyone? Fried Zucchini is a snack or appetizer that is easy to make. Just a few ingredients and you have some delicious finger-licking starter grub!

Fried Zucchini is an easy-to-make snack that tastes yum! With just a few ingredients, you have a simple yet delicious snack that can be put together in no time. Be it a rainy day or a hot summer day, this mild and sweet snack is a good way to stay full.

Why zucchini you ask? Well, zucchini has a lot more pros than cons.

Zucchini also known as baby marrow or courgette is a summer squash. It contains a variety of vitamins and minerals.

Although the Zucchini looks like a cucumber that you’d put in a salad, they belong to different families; cucumber belongs to the gourd family and the zucchini to the squash family.

But more importantly, apart from eating it raw like we normally do, you can add to a great-tasting starter plate in under 15 minutes.

Similar to my roasted fennel starter or fried sweet potato chips, frying the zucchini brings out the sweetness, which is usually very mild when eaten raw. So try this easy zucchini fry recipe and let me know if you like it…

What Ingredients Do you Need to Fry Zucchini?

All you need is zucchini, pepper, salt & chickpea flour, and a little water to make the batter. Oil for frying is of course required even though we don’t use too much of it.

How To Fry Zucchini to make Appetisers?

You start by washing the Zucchini. Cut them into thin slices or long strips. You can remove the skin if you want to, but as you can see we have kept it. It has vitamins and minerals hiding underneath.

Sprinkle the zucchini slices with pepper powder and salt.

Next, add the chickpea flour and a little water to make the batter and coat the slices. (Sidenote: We use flour made from chickpeas because we prefer the lighter gluten free texture, but if you’re okay with it, you can just use all purpose flour for a crisper batter.)

Heat oil in a frying pan. Add the coated zucchini slices to the pan and fry for a few minutes. (You can coat the entire zucchini, but semi-coated tastes better.)
