Esther reads like a political thriller — a queen who was a chosen woman of God, a secret plot, a sleepless king, and a villain who builds his own downfall one step at a time. These faith-filled fun jokes lean into one of the best-known Old Testament books, and its reversals and ironic timing give us plenty to smile about. As always, we’re not making light of the real danger the Jewish people faced in this story — just enjoying the moments it clearly means to be delicious with irony. For more, visit our Faith hub.

Fun fact 👀: the Book of Esther never once mentions God’s name. It’s the only book in the Bible that doesn’t. Yet from a queen’s courage to a king’s sleepless night, His fingerprints are all over the story.
Coincidence, this book suggests, sometimes has excellent timing. Persia had a powerful king, but God was still directing the story — and He doesn’t always announce His providence with fireworks. Behind every great plot twist in Esther, God was already at work.
