This world we live in is twisted. The once bright and morning star, Lucifer, the one who was created purely to worship Abba, turned against Him and revolted they say. And after he was cast out of Heaven he made it his duty to persecute anyone and everyone that showed allegiance to Abba. He fights a losing battle, but he’s still fighting. And what better way for him to do it than to turn and twist God’s word into something it isn’t.
One big fight among the many he’s taken up is the one where he’s led Christians to believe that God’s chosen people (the Jews) have been replaced. What is this system of belief called? Replacement Theology. It’s a theological doctrine that says that the Christian Church has replaced the Jewish people as God’s chosen people, that all biblical prophecies about Israel have already been fulfilled, that the New Covenant through Jesus Christ has replaced the Abrahamic and Mosaic Covenants, and no longer believes that Israel has a destiny to live in the land of Israel.
I have many Christian friends who love and support Israel, but I also have a few friends and acquaintances who believe this hogwash that replacement theology is. They have believed the lies that the mountain of media presented them and trust a distorted view of what the Word of God really says. If they really wanted to learn the truth, they’d ask Abba to show them what it is. But in the meantime, for others seeking answers to the same question, here are just a few verses from the Bible that nullify replacement theology. Read them, pray about them and ask Abba to show you His truth.
Biblical Quotes that Invalidate Replacement Theology
I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
Apostle Paul/Saul in Romans 11:1
For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel shall be saved; as it is written, “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob.”
Apostle Saul/Paul in Romans 11:25-26
And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children’s children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
Ezekiel 37:24–28
When the LORD will have compassion on Jacob, and again choose Israel, and settle them in their own land, then strangers will join them and attach themselves to the house of Jacob.
Isaiah 14:1
“Therefore behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when it will no longer be said, “As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,” but, “As the Lord lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of the North and from all the countries where He banished them.” For I will restore them to their own land which I gave to their fathers.
Jeremiah 16:14-15
Other Quotes Against Replacement Theology
If one reads the Bible without the presuppositions or replacement theology, it will be impossible to find an example anywhere in the Bible where the word Israel refers to anything but the Jews.
Thomas Ice in The Case for Zionism: Why Christians Should Support Israel
While God may be focusing His attention primarily on the church in this dispensation of grace, God has not forgotten Israel and will one day restore Israel to His intended role as the nation He has chosen.
Got Questions
While the church is said to be a partaker in Israel’s promises in the New Testament, nowhere is she said to be a taker over of Israel’s promises.
Holocaust survivor Arnold Fruchtenbaum (PhD, NYU)
Replacement Theology’s sixth strand is less the result of distorted Bible teaching or ignorance than plain old anti-Semitism, often very thinly disguised.
Fred Wright in The Six Errors of Replacement Theology
Jesus is said to be “the mediator of the new covenant,” but this does not mean that the New Covenant is fulfilled in the church and has no literal fulfilment in Israel. As Hebrews teaches in chapters 8 and 10, the New Covenant has elements that extend beyond Israel and her conversion and restoration and glorification. New Testament believers participate in the spiritual blessings of the New Covenant through Christ’s atonement… Nowhere does Hebrews or any other New Testament epistle say that this covenant has been transferred from national Israel to “the church” or that the physical aspects of the covenant should be spiritualized.
David Cloud, Way of Life Literature
The Gentiles were never meant to monopolise the spiritual blessings in Christ – only to partake of them.
John Wilkinson
Those who hold that God is not faithful to, or capable of fulfilling, his word to Israel have a theology built on sand.
Fred Wright
God made a covenant with the Jews at Sinai. He has neither abrogated nor cancelled that covenant.
